Phantom Load: The Standby Electricity Bill You Didn’t Know You Were Paying

How standby power consumption quietly inflates electricity bills, and the simple interventions that eliminate most of it.

Phantom load, the electricity drawn by devices that are nominally turned off, is one of the larger hidden expenses in modern homes. What to leave plugged in
